02. Cabbage soup - diet basis
The cabbage soup is a basic meal present in all days of the diet. We have to remember about a simple relation - the more cabbage we eat, the more extra weight we can lose. There are only 20 calories in 100 grams of cabbage. The cabbage soup is very quick and easy to prepare. A recipe given below allows for preparing a portion that should be enough for about a week. Prepared soup should be kept in a fridge and heated up only in the amount needed for a meal.
Cabbage soup recipe:
- one head of white or savoy cabbage,
- six large finely chopped onions,
- six tomatoes (fresh or canned),
- two green (or yellow and red) peppers,
- 25 dag of carrot,
- one bunch of celery,
- seasoning and spices: parsley, pepper, curry, dill and other you like i.e. oregano, garlic, basil, tarragon.
Preparation:
Shred cabbage; tomatoes (peeled), celery, carrot and pepper cut into small pieces. Pour about 3 litres of water over vegetables and cook. After about half an hour, when all ingredients are soft, add the seasoning and spices. We have to remember not to add salt, fat or bouillon to the soup. Since the soup is the base of our seven day menu and it is to help us lose extra weight, it is important to prepare the soup strictly to the recipe.
